Shay here! I originally made this blog to write about a little bit of everything: college, fashion, news,  health, and advice. But after ten years of writing in a paper journal, I decided to take advantage of technology and return to “That’s What Shay Said” as a way to blog about my life as a new college graduate.

That eventually turned into a way to recap my experiences in the NYC area when I moved to New Jersey in May of 2015 for my job with First for Women magazine. After a year, I decided to step away but now…I’m back! Back to share tidbits of my life in Ohio and flashbacks to life in and around NYC.

Writing is my life. Whether it’s articles, stories, screenplays, or blogs, I’ve found that I’m at my most creative using the written word as my medium.
